we get to carry each other".

The words above are from the song "One", which was sung by Irish pop group, U2. I love to listen to this song, it reminds me of what we are called to be as the Body of Christ. Jesus in John 17:20 prayed that all those who believe in Him would seek to be in oneness of mind, purpose and love. Jesus knew that the objective of any task depended on Oneness and He initiated that oneness with His heavenly King. He prayed that for us. But why is so difficult to follow this command? Let's explore the words above.

In the body of Christ, though we are one, we are also different in a lot of ways, different in the colour of our skin, in the way we walk, talk and speak. God does not want us to change this, He wants us to concentrate on the way we think and live spiritually, for we do not walk according to the flesh...

The Father and Son throughout the New Testament worked with each other. The Father provided all that was needed so the Son could do what He came to do, save the World from sin. We are also asked to carry each other. How do we do that? We encourage the frustrated, help the weak and correct those who falter but we should be careful to do these things out of love. God did, through His Word He has left us with a book full of ways to help those who needed carrying. Take heed and obey.
